€28million has been announced for local roads projects.
Just over €19million’s due to Kilkenny with €8.9 for Carlow (breakdowns below) as part of a national pot of €713 million for regional and local roads.
Fianna Fáil Deputy Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere has told KCLR News; “The highest ever allocation of roads funding for Kilkenny and Carlow, Kilkenny County Council’s received €19.57million in funding, a 10% increase on 2024, and Carlow is to receive €8.9million, a 12% increase on 2024 for road and safety improvements right around the constituency so it’s fantastic news, record investment in the constituency and I absolutely welcome the greater focus and investment on roads as part of the new Government”.
