€3.2 million will be spent on roadworks in North Kilkenny this year.
Councillors for the area met yesterday to agree on the spend which will see improvement works carried out in Castlecomer, Ballyragget, Urlingford, Freshford, Tullaroan, Coon, Jenkinstown, Castlewarren and more.
Some towns and villages will see footpaths upgraded while others are getting street lights, parking and other improvements.
Cathaoirleach of the Castlecomer Municipal District is Councillor Pat Fitzpatrick.
He says great credit is due to community groups in the area who have an important part to play.
