€760,000 set to be pumped into villages and small towns in Carlow and Kilkenny.
The Minister for Arts, Gaelteacht and rural affairs Heather Humphreys has announced the €10m national fund today.
The Village Renewal schemes have to be allocated by the local County Councils by the end of the year so the local authorities will need to come up with proposals their respective September meetings.
There won’t be much time for public consultation but the Mayor of Kilkenny Patrick O’Neill says local community groups will be able to prioritize projects in their own areas.
