Evergreen are through to the FAI Junior Cup semi-finals after a superb 2-0 victory over Pike Rovers in Limerick yesterday.
Goals from David Grincell and Dara Keane secured the win for Gary Maher’s side, who have now taken another major step towards a first-ever FAI Junior Cup title.
Evergreen will face Castlebar Celtic in the semi-finals after the Mayo side overcame Gorey Rangers on penalties following a 2-2 draw.
It means another away trip awaits Evergreen as they continue their remarkable run in the competition.
The Kilkenny side have already defeated Kildare Town, Kildrum Tigers, Colga and now Pike Rovers on their way to the last four.
The other semi-final will see Coachford take on Trim Celtic.
Trim Celtic defeated Portmarnock 2-1 to book their place in the last four.
Their semi-final opponents is Coachford with a place in the FAI Junior Cup final at stake.
Cockhill Celtic were beaten 2-1 by Coachford and but they will now turn their attention to a new chapter, with their opening game in the new League of Ireland Third Tier coming up away to Mervue Unitedy.
For Evergreen, however, the focus is firmly on the FAI Junior Cup and a huge opportunity to reach the final.
