Local farmers say they’re still worried that drones could be linked to the rise in thefts from farms.
A number of farmers have been in touch about what they say are increasing incidents of drones flying over their land.
It follows a recent spate of farm and garden tools being stolen around the country.
Just last week 150,000 euro worth of stolen goods was recovered by local Gardaí in the Kilkenny/Carlow area – much of it was farm tools and machinery.
James Murphy, Leinster Chair of the IFA, told KCLR news that they want to remind farmers of their Theft Stop initiative and the importance of uniquely branding your property.
