A former president of the GAA says there’s no question of the national anthem being removed from the start of matches.
Kilkenny’s Nicky Brennan was speaking following an Irish Times interview with current president, Aogán Ó Fearghaíl in which he says that they may have to consider this because of the global expansion of the games.
The playing of Amhrán na bhFiann has been a central element of all GAA occasions.
Speaking to KCLR today, Nicky Brennan says this was more than likely a case of a question being sprung on Aogán and he can’t see it ever coming to pass.
