It was another busy weekend for our roads policing division as the Bank Holiday Road Safety campaign comes to an end.
72 checkpoints were conducted across the division with 4 people arrested for suspicion of drink or drug driving, 3 in kilkenny and 1 in Carlow.
Natioanlly over 1,200 people were detected speeding, 10 people were found to be speeding on the M9 motorwat with two females were cloked doing 151km/hr in a 120 zone while on the callan road one driver was doing 90km/hr in a 60 zone.
19 cars were seized under section 41 of the road traffic act, most for having no insurance.
Divisional Roads Policing Inspector Paul Donohoe told KCLR News the numbers are difficult to watch.
