Free heart and ear health checks are being offered to people in Kilkenny today.
The Irish Heart Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit will be parked up at the library branch at Loughboy Shopping Centre from 10am to 2:45pm.
Its crew will be checking blood pressure and pulses in a bid to promote heart health and early detection of hypertension / high blood pressure, a leading cause of cardiovascular disease, and watching out for atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to serious health issues.
Lifestyle advice and information on maintaining heart health will be provided by the expert nurses.
The team will be joined by Hidden Hearing whose personnel are will be overseeing earwax checks and video otoscopy.
No appointments are needed, those interested can simply stop by and chat to those involved.
