Harry Potter books are still as popular now with local children as they were when they first came out.
That’s according to the Assistant County Librarian in Kilkenny as this week marks the 20th anniversary since the very first book about the famous wizard was published.
Events have been planned in libraries around the county to celebrate, including a wand making workshop in Castlecomer tomorrow, and a magical treasure hunt in Urlingford.
Assistant County Librarian, Aisling Kelly, told KCLR she doesn’t think she’ll ever again see the excitement that surrounded the release of the Harry Potter books.
