The head of Carlow Tourism says she regrets that two members have resigned over their stance on the Barrow towpath developments.

A statement from the board of industry members of Carlow Tourism was released in recent weeks in full support of Waterways Ireland plans to develop a multi-use leisure trail along the Barrow from St Mullins to Lowtown in Co Kildare.

Eileen O Rourke says it was circulated to 171 members and only six responded negatively to it.

Two members have since resigned but Eileen says she is not aware of plans by any more members to step down.
