Ballyhale Shamrocks have nominated Joey Holden for the captaincy of the Kilkenny senior hurling team.
He becomes the sixth Ballyhale clubman to attain the honour since 2007, following Henry Shefflin, James Cha Fitzpatrick, Michael Fennelly, TJ Reid and Colin Fennelly.

Last night, Eddie Byrne scored a late Carlow goal to draw with UCD in a senior hurling challenge game.
In one local fixture this morning, Coláiste Eoin, Hacketstown take on Scoil Aireagail, Ballyhale in the South Leinster Schools Juvenile Football D Final this morning. Throw in is at 11:30 in Dr Cullen Park.
