Road safety features among the headline issues on the agenda of Councillor Deirdre Cullen (FF), the newly elected Chairperson of the Callan-Thomastown Municipal District.
Cllr Cullen was proposed for the position by outgoing chair, Cllr Joe Lyons (FG), which Cllr Joe Sheridan (FF) seconding the proposal.
Amongst the other matters set to dominate Cllr Cullen’s term include the pending Ferrymountgarret Bridge project and the installation of interim flood defence works in the District. It’s also hoped that the Graiguenamanagh Flood Relief Scheme will move towards a positive resolution following a report on the project by An Comisiún Pleanála.
Following her election, Cllr Phelan spoke to KCLR News about her hopes for the next 12 months.
