Kilkenny’s council officials are being urged to prioritise coach parking at the Abbey Quarter to encourage tourists to explore more of the city.
Typically such visitors land at the Castle and don’t move up the High Street.
The General Manager at Rothe House has told KCLR News that she was delighted by yesterday’s news that the contracts have been signed for the new Urban Street & Park in the city centre’s newest area.
But Valerie O’Sullivan says there needs to be something to encourage more people to that end of the city;

Meanwhile a new tourist kiosk has been set up on The Parade which KCLR News understands is to open today.
Funded by the local authority, it’s set to be manned by a rotating crew from various city centre attractions in a bid to provide information on the other spots worth visiting.
