It comes after a person contacted KCLR last week to say they knew someone who had been turned away due to ‘overcrowding’
In a statement to KCLR news, they say adult in-patient services are provided at the Department of Psychiatry unit – which operates on a 24 hour basis.
Access to these services is by referral from their GP or St Luke’s Hospital for Carlow/Kilkenny.
It follows the Minister for Mental Health’s announcement that there will be more investment in local mental Health Services.
