Hundreds left without power in Kilkenny for a time this afternoon

Approximately 1,500 customers in the Kilkenny city area were affected by a power outage this afternoon.

The power cut, which happened just after 2.40pm, was caused due to a fault on a line.

ESB Network crews responded immediately, and power was restored to all customers around 3pm.

A spokesperson for the ESB said “we acknowledge the disruption to family and commercial life that the outage causes and thank our customers for their patience.”
