Immigration reforms raises hopes for local families with loved ones living illegally in US

Local families are crossing their fingers that their loved ones might be able to come home again from the US.

President Obama revealed plans that would allow millions of immigrants living illegally in the US to apply for work permits.

It will apply to those living living in America for five years who have children staying legally in the US and is expected to benefit up to 5 million people.

Kilkenny woman Catherine Hogans son is one of them – she says after 9 years of being unable to come home, he is very excited about it.
