Investigations are continuing into Sunday’s M9 crash in County Kildare, in which five teenagers were killed.
Five teenagers, two of them from Carlow, were killed in the incident after the car they were travelling in was driven the wrong way on the motorway and collided with another car close to Moone.
That vehicle was carrying three women and a seven-year-old boy, also with ties to Carlow – all of whom are in hospital, some in a critical condition.
Fiosrú is also examining the Garda interaction with the teenager’s vehicle before the fatal incident.
Yesterday the Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council Cllr Tommy Kinsella told KCLR News the situation was ‘horrific’ and had left many shocked and saddened.
Funeral details for the deceased are expected to be announced later today.
