It was a successful day for Carlow football, with wins recorded by both the men’s and ladies’ teams.
The Carlow ladies, who maintained their perfect start to the Division 4 campaign with a hard-fought victory away to Offaly. The 2–8 to 12 points win makes it four wins from four and keeps Carlow firmly on track in the league.
Carlow showed strong character to turn the game around after a challenging first half. Trailing by four points at the break and conceding the opening score of the second half, they responded with a determined display to wrestle back control of the contest.
Speaking after the game, Carlow ladies manager Ed Burke praised his side’s resilience.
“It was really good. I think we went in at half-time four points down and they got the first score. So we were delighted we showed that bit of fight in the second half. Offaly came back at us, but we were well able to hold.”
