Fianna Fáil’s John McGuinness says he will be taking the pay increase for TDs but the structure of their pay should be looked at.
Deputy McGuinness was speaking as a number of TDs have come forward to say they won’t be accepting the pay increase of over €2,000 that was granted in last week’s budget.
The Kilkenny-based TD says the structure of their pay must be looked at in the future, along with the pay of other public sector workers.
Speaking to KCLR, John McGuinness says in some ways it’s a cop out to refuse the increase.
