The end’s in sight for the 2024 Kilkenny Lions Christmas Hamper Appeal radio auction but there’s still a chance to nab a bargain.
600 families locally are helped each year by the proceeds raised from the donating and selling of hundreds of items.
Just a small few are left for this morning’s annual fire sale on KCLR Breakfast as Lion Eddie Holohan explains the rest of the campaign went well; “Tremendously well, we’re down to I think we’ve 13 items of a list this morning out of 214, you matter what measure you use you’d think that’s a huge success, very good value, great support, Farm auction again last night was a repeat of the week before, a huge clearance, everything gone, looking forward to the last few items this morning and I’d just like to say a big thank you all those who bid, all those people who gave us the items, the general support and the cooperation and help from your colleagues here in KCLR and Kilkenny People, it has culminated in a huge success”.
He adds; “Every phone call is something different, people ringing in and they tell you why they’re buying it and the background to it, some of them are getting something for a worthy cause themselves so all life is out there in any of those phone calls so you couldn’t but be pleased and boosted by the response you’re getting”.
