A local councillor says he was “at a loss to know” why a text alert didn’t go out after a spate of burglaries happened.
Maurice Shortall says recently three burglaries took place over the space of just two days in Castlecomer and yet no alert was sent out to people in the locality to warn them.
At the moment they have a database of over a hundred households signed up to the scheme.
Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Shortall says that while it mightn’t have prevented any of the burglaries it would still have been useful to know what was happening.
