The Kilkenny Countryside Park at Dunmore has been awarded an International Green Flag in recognition of its high quality, sustainable managed public green space.
The 24-acre park, which opened in December 2023, features themed walking and running trails, play and exercise areas, ball walls, a viewing area, hammocks, loungers and Kilkenny’s first dog friendly enclosure.

A strong biodiversity plan has also guided the park’s development and contributed to its success.
It’s hoped the green flag will elevate the appeal of the City and County, contributing to the ‘Outdoor Kilkenny’ brand and solidifying Kilkenny’s status as a premier outdoor tourism destination.
