Kilkenny County Council meeting adjourned as a mark of respect to Jo Cox

This months meeting of Kilkenny county council began with a minutes silence for murdered MP Jo Cox.

There was also a 15 minute adjournment as a mark of respect for the Labour MP who was shot and stabbed last Thursday.

Meanwhile, Jo Cox’s family are hearing tributes from her friends and colleagues in the House of Commons.

MPs are wearing white roses as a mark of respect for the 41 year old.
