Kilkenny Lions are back at KCLR for day two of the General Radio Auction as part of their Christmas Hamper Appeal.
It’s as many of them attended last night’s successful Mayor’s Christmas Concert held at the Watergate Theatre and from which proceeds will also go to help those in need locally this festive season.
Stevie Mulrooney, Enya Cox Dempsey, Tómás Jackman with Ethan Jackman of The Donnys, Oracle Villa, Burnchurch with Ciarán O’Dwyer and The Kilkennys each donated their talents and their time to the event, aided by the superb venue crew and team from Broderick’s Music Warehouse.
But today, the focus returns to the auction appeal and President of Kilkenny Lions Gerry McGovern has told KCLR News; “Day one was absolutely excellent, we had a slightly new format in that we ran the auction right throughout the day, I have to say that the buy-in from KCLR people was absolutuely excellent, we had a superb day, we’re hoping to build on that today and we’re looking forward to another successful day and tomorrow as well”.
He adds; “It’s so important that people get involved because all of these funds to go needy charities in the run-up to Christmas and these charities are based in our local community so whatever we do on this helps our fellow community members in the run-up to Christmas and we value the contribution of everybody involved in this”.
