Kilkenny local election candidate escapes fine for putting up posters too early due to loophole

A local election candidate in Kilkenny has escaped a fine from the council for putting up election posters too early.

 

Kilkenny County Council has confirmed to KCLR that they contacted the person in question to remove posters however the candidate used a loophole.

 

They escaped a fine by covering the posters with an ad for a public meeting and the council says they will escape fines as a result.
