A planning application has been received for almost €1 million in major upgrade works at the Wastewater treatment plant in Ballyhale.
The works, which were applied for by Uisce Eireann, include plans to install a new automatic inlet screen, construct a new stormwater holding tank, construct a new sludge holding tank, onstruction of a new sludge holding tank, construction of a new balance tank with associated access stairs and platform, construction of a new supernatant pumping station, construction of a new washwater booster pumping station, demolition of the existing sludge holding tank, demolition of the existing balance tank and all ancillary site development works
Speaking to KCLR News, local Cllr Peter “Chap” Cleere welcomed the application, stating that they were on the agenda for a long time, and noting that there is an issue with wastewater treatment plants around the county.
