The launch of Kilkenny’s and Carlow’s ‘Darkness into Light’ is taking place today.
The 5-kilometre run or walk is Pieta House’s signature awareness and fundraising event and will take place just after 4am on Saturday morning, the 6th of May.
Today’s launch for Kilkenny, Carlow, Athy, Maynooth, Naas and Monasterevin takes place in Athy College.
Tom McEvoy of Pieta House says in the region of 5,000 people took part in Carlow and Kilkenny last year.
In Kilkenny this year, ‘Darkness Into Light’ will begin at James Stephens Army Barracks, while in Carlow it’s beginning at St Laurence O’Toole’s Athletics Club.
