A festival of writing and music kicks off today in neighbouring Laois.
Leaves runs until Saturday with an array of events in libraries and other venues across the county.

First offerings are from 11am this morning – Linda McEvoy will lead a discussion titled ‘Writing a romance your readers will fall in love with’ at Abbeyleix Library while at Midlands Prison at the same time there’s the One County One Book prison workshop with Kevin Curran.
