Local Councillor says Govt don’t understand scale of mental Health crisis

A Carlow councillor says the Goverment and the Health Minister doesn’t understand how big a crisis we’re facing in mental health.
Fianna Fáil’s Fintan Phelan has been speaking after the Department of Health and the HSE announced they were taking 12 million euro out of a 35 million fund, that had been ringfenced for mental health services, to use on other services.
Leo Varadkar has since said the decision was justified.
But Councillor Phelan says this just show how little the powers that be understand the scale of the crisis.
