Local Gardaí isssue warning: Always lock your car to prevent theft

Remember to lock your car.

That’s the advice from local gardaí as a vehicle was ransacked in the Marketyard car park on Monday.

The injured party had parked their car before going into a shop. When they returned they found two people in their car.

They fled the scene after taking a number of items.

Garda Lisa Mullins says its easy to forget to lock the car before leaving.

She said, “You’d be surprised, the amount of houses or housing estates where people just jump out of the car to take their kids or shopping out and they just forget to hit the zapper and lock the car.”
