A local Sinn Féin TD says a tweet by her party leader involving the N-word was “very silly”.
Gerry Adams used the controversial phrase in a post on Twitter over the weekend.
He has since claimed that it was used in response to watching the film Django Unchained – that he was trying to draw comparisons between the struggle of Irish Nationalists and that of African Americans.
Kathleen Funchion told KCLR it wasn’t his finest moment.
