Soldiers from James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny are getting a special 1916 commemorative medal.
It’s part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme where Defence Force personnel will be given the specially commissioned piece at Dublin Castle on Sunday the 4th of December.
Some members of the local barracks will be there on that day however all members will get the medal at their own ceremony in James Stephens Barracks on the 6th December.
