33 students from Kilkenny and Carlow will show off the fruits of their labour as the 2017 BT Young Scientist Exhibition opens to the public today.
While Carlow is being represented by just one project from St Leo’s, Kilkenny has six schools with 13 projects.
550 projects in total made it through and the winning one will go on to represent Ireland in Europe.
Castlecomer Community School have two projects in the running – one comparing incubated chicks with naturally hatched, and the other on hard-surface versus soft-surface running.
Tom Buggy from Transition Year in the school told KCLR News they’re very excited to be involved in the exhibition.
