Man who died in Hacketstown farm accident named as Mick Lambert

The man who died as a result of a farm accident in Hacketstown at the weekend has been named locally as Mick Lambert.
At about 4 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, Gardaí at Tinahely were called to the scene in Hacketstown.
Local business man and farmer, Mick Lambert, who was in his 60s, had been working on a trench in Ard na Boy when it’s understood the sides collapsed.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Naas General Hospital Mortuary where a port mortem is due to take place.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
In a post on their Facebook page, Kiltegan GAA have paid tribute to Mr Lambert saying “every tradesman, farmer and person who has done DIY across most of Carlow and Wicklow will have come across Mick.
He was a true gentleman and always enjoyed the haggle. He will be missed.”
Funeral arrangements for Mr Lambert are expected to be announced later.
