Men are being encouraged to make small changes to improve their health and wellbeing.
Men’s Health Week is getting underway today and they’re being urged to keep in touch with family, friends and work colleagues.
Almost a quarter of men are obese and diseases of the circulatory system are the leading cause of death for men aged over 75.
Director of the National Centre for Men’s Health in IT Carlow Dr Noel Richardson says more need support due to Covid-19, noting “This is particularly the case as emerged from the Covid-19 pandemic; you know a lot of men, and women for that matter, have suffered a lot through bereavement, loss of jobs, relationships, challenges, so there are certain groups of men that need support more than ever before so anything that you as a member of society can do to reach out to offer support would be greatly appreciated at this time”.
