MEP Seán Kelly defends government’s plans to appeal ruling against Apple

An MEP for this region is defending government plans to appeal the European Commission ruling that Apple must pay us €13 billion in back taxes.
The commission ruling says the tax breaks offered to entice the tech giant to come to Ireland were illegal state aid.
There’s calls for the government to accept the ruling and claim the €13 billion but Finance Minister Michael Noonan is today seeking cabinet approval to appeal the decision.
Ireland south MEP Seán Kelly’s told KCLR News that the Fine Gael-led government at the time were not breaking any laws and we have to fight our corner to protect our reputation.
