The 28 or 29 degrees forecast for yesterday didn’t arrive although it did get close to 27 degrees locally.
Carlow weather says the highest temperature recorded in the county on Wednesday was 26.8 degrees and the mercury in Kilkenny hit 26.7 just after 5pm yesterday evening according to Kilkenny weather.
It won’t be as warm today but temperatures should still reach the 20’s.
Its prompted a warning to locals about looking after your pets and other animals in the heat.
