More icy conditions are on the way across Carlow and Kilkenny tonight but help is available

Another status yellow weather alert for low temperatures and ice will come into effect at 6pm this evening for Carlow and KIlkenny.

Conditions on paths and roads will remain treacherous before a thaw finally kicks in this weekend.

There are also major concerns for animals in the freezing conditions.

To help with the conditions Carlow County Council will make loose salt available today in an attempt to help people to grit and salt areas around their community.
