Mount Leinster Rangers are taking time to reflect on what has been one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history.

Not only did they complete a rare double by winning both the senior hurling and senior camogie county titles, but over the weekend they added further silverware by capturing the Under-21 championship.

The momentum in the club is clear, and the underage success adds another layer to a year already marked by achievement.

Ed Byrne, a member of the Under-21 management team, joined Eddie Scally on Full Time on KCLR to discuss the latest triumph and the overall strength of the club. During the interview, he also shared his thoughts on the arrival of new Carlow senior hurling manager Pat Bennett.

“As good as Tommy was, Pat is good too,” Byrne said. “He’s coming in there and they still have a good crop of players. You might get hit with one or two retirements or whatever it is, but there’s still plenty of talent around the county for Carlow to be able to push on at that Joe McDonagh level and get back up to the top tier. I think that’s what they should be aiming for really. I know the league is important too, but if they can get back up and win that Joe McDonagh again this year, that would be a major boost for Carlow.”
