Wexford Councillors have conceded that they will consider all options for naming the New Ross By Pass Bridge.
It had been reported that they were going to name it after Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy to highlight the local link to the former US president JFK.
But locals in South Kilkenny were up in arms that they hadn’t been consulted about naming the bridge which is under construction now at the Pink Rock in Glenmore.
Fine Gael Councillor Fidelis Doherty brought the issue up at a Meeting with new Ross Councillors this afternoon and was pleased with their response.
Cllr Doherty says an agreed protocol for naming the bridge will be put in place.
