The opening of a flagship Dunnes Stores in the largely vacant Ferrybank Shopping Centre will be “huge economically” for the community in Ferrybank and South Kilkenny.
That’s the view of Cllr Jenny Catt Slattery after Waterford City and County Council withdrew its Hight Court challenge against its Kilkenny counterpart’s decision to grant planning permission for the store. (We broke that story on Monday – see here).
Cllr Catt Slattery’s been telling KCLR News it clears the way for the development, noting; “Ferrybank needs something in it and this is just, we’re delighted this it’s going to go ahead now, and working together with Waterford County Council I’m sure, going forward now everything has to be drive on and get it open”.
