Nursing Homes Ireland says at least 21 beds available to help with trolley crisis in Carlow and Kilkenny

There are 21 beds that could be made available in nursing homes in Carlow and Kilkenny to help with the current trolley crisis.
That’s according to Nursing Homes Ireland who released a snap survey on beds available around the country this week.
However, they say that number could be much higher because just under half of all the NHI member homes responded to the survey in time.
According to the survey, 3 of the 5 NHI nursing homes in Carlow responded and had a total of 10 beds available, while 4 of Kilkenny’s nursing homes said they could offer 11.
CEO of Nursing Homes Ireland Tadhg Daly, says his members could provide transition care where appropriate.
