Over-pass at lethal Tower Road junction in South Kilkenny could be in place by 2019

A group campaigning for something major to be done to make a local junction safer, has welcomed news that a permanent solution could be in place within two years.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland have announced they hope that the proposed over-bridge at the Tower Road Junction in South Kilkenny could be open by late 2019.

There have been a large number of crashes – many of them fatal – on that stretch of the N24 in recent years.

Speaking to KCLR News, Robert Duggan of the Piltown Bypass Action Group has welcomed news that the Council will be putting the consultancy service for the bridge out to tender in the next few weeks.
