Penneys’ €2million investment into its Kilkenny outlet is now on show.
The recently renovated store at the Market Cross Shopping Centre, which opened 30 years ago, had it’s big revamp reveal this week.
60 people are employed there with two retail colleagues, Aileen Watters and Breda Kane, there since it first opened in September 1994.
There are six self-checkout tills alongside the traditional served ones as well as new fittings, fixtures and an upgraded LED technology lighting system while the branch’s recently launched ranges including ‘Primark Presents Rita Ora’ collection and a Christmas homeware offering are now available there.
Welcoming customers to the new Penneys Kilkenny, Fintan Costello, Head of Penneys Ireland and Northern Ireland, said: “Christmas has come early for Kilkenny shoppers who can look forward to a better shopping experience in our fresh new store. We’re delighted to welcome loyal and new customers through the doors and give them even more choice across our ranges. We’re proud to be investing in our stores across the country, providing a vital boost to communities as well as to neighbouring retailers through the footfall we attract.”
The new-look comes after its Carlow base underwent its revamp two years ago.
