A solar farm is being planned near Ballyhale in Kilkenny.
Highfield Solar Limited have put in a planning application for the development at Derry-nahinch, Kiltorcan.

It would feature solar PV panels, on steel support structures over a 90 thousand square metre area.
The initial estimate is that it would be operating for 10 years.
