An applications been made for another solar farm locally, this time in Ballyragget.
Permission was previously granted by Carlow county council to Elgin Energy Services for a 35 acres solar farm in Kilcarrig in Bagenalstown.
Now the company has submitted plans to Kilkenny county council for a facility at Ballyconra in Ballyragget
Another company, Highfield Solar have already been given the green light to construct one in the Knocktopher-Ballyhale area.
