Volkswagens, Toyotas and John Deeres it seems are among the most popular vehicle makes on the roads around Carlow and Kilkenny.
That’s according to the Department of Transport.
Nationally, there was a 2% increase in the number of vehicles on Irish roads.
The latest statistics from the Department of Transport show that as of the 31st of December 2016, there were 14,141 private cars licensed in Carlow, while there were 21,133 in Kilkenny.
There were also a further 37,900 exempt, public service or other vehicles registered in Carlow, with that number standing at 58,130 in Kilkenny.
It seems the most popular make of car in Carlow is Volkswagen with over 3,760 of them in private ownership.
In Kilkenny, Toyota is the most common make at more than 5,870.
On the agricultural front, there are almost 1,800 and over 3,500 tractors in Carlow and Kilkenny respectively.
And, of those, John Deere is by far the most popular make.
The total number of driving licenses was upwards of 38,100 in Carlow and 59,900 in Kilkenny.
