A poster for the iconic Kilkenny brand, Sullivan’s Ales is going under the hammer later.
Dating from 1910 the vintage piece includes the city’s coat of arms and is expected to go for about €600 at auction.
Sullivan’s Brewery was established in 1702, eight years before Smithwick’s was founded in Kilkenny City.
Posters for timeless Irish brands like Pierces of Wexford, Gouldings, Guinness and Aer Lingus will form the centrepiece of the Vintage Advertising & Printed Ephemera auction to be held in Sheppard’s of Durrow which finishes on Friday evening.
Phillip Sheppard has been telling KCLR News that they actually have a number of Sullivan’s pieces in the collection.
