A series of public meetings will be held over the coming weeks to help develop a suicide prevention plan for Carlow.
The meetings will be used to identify the different areas that need to be addressed locally so that suicidal behaviour can be prevented and mental health overall will be improved.
They’re being organised by the HSE and hosted by community partners, with the first taking place next Tuesday morning in Bagenalstown.
Speaking to KCLR News, Joanne Donohoe from Carlow County Development Partnership says it’s important that as many people as possible have their say.
The meetings scheduled are as follows:
Tuesday 17th January, from 10am to 12 noon in Bagenalstown Family Resource Centre
Wednesday 18th January, from 2-4pm in Teach Bríd, Tullow
Wednesday 18th January, 7.30-9.30pm in the Vocational School, Borris
Wednesday 25th January, 7.30-9.30pm in the Cathedral Parish Centre, Carlow
Thursday 26th January, 7.30-9.30pm in Coláiste Eoin, Hacketstown.
