Carlow Courthouse railings are set for a renovation, according to the courts service.
Concerns have been raised on the local airwaves again recently (listen below) that the bars are rotting.
But a courts services spokesperson says “The railings around Carlow Courthouse are earmarked for renovation under our current plans. There has been a delay in progressing this project due to Covid restrictions on most building works”.
In addition, they say “Acting on our behalf, the OPW are at tender stage for a project to restore 10 sections of the railings. The very sensitive architectural restoration of the entirety of these historic railings is one which will be guided by the experience and outcome of the first tranche of ten sections”.
It is expected the tender process will conclude in the coming weeks.
